The objective of this project was to create a system that could speed up the process of filling prescriptions and getting general goods from a pharmacy, this system was designed as a kiosk that would allow for easy access from every user. These results for the best application of this project were collected through, interviews and user personas, screenshots from a prototype can be found at the bottom of the page

Research
Interviews
Interviews were conducted first, most of them talked about what they felt was frustrating about the current pharmacy experience and what could be different about it. There were also questions, One interview was also done with a pharmacy technician so I could really see where some of the underlying problems were in the current solution of filling prescriptions
"I feel like there is currently a really big gap in what could be done within a pharmacy, we are in the back room counting 200 pills and are expected to do it about 90 times a day, there is just too much to do, I feel like if we had a dispenser or any type of machine that could help people out. obviously, we would still need to count all of the narcotics as its law here in Ontario. Other over-the-counter prescriptions should be easily dispensed for customers"

"One of my main frustrations with getting my prescriptions is that what I need isn't a narcotic or anything special but I have to either wait in line or wait an extremely long time for my prescriptions during the day because of the number of people that are there. I don't blame the pharmacists I know there is a lot of work but I wish there was a faster way for me to get my stuff without having to wait behind all of those people."
After conducting these interviews I created the idea of a kiosk that would dispense non-narcotic and other common prescriptions to users, this machine would help reduce the amount of time they spend in the pharmacy if they just needed to pick something up quickly. It would also store the user's profile though their health card so they could access any of these kiosks and access their medical information.
User Personas
User personas were created to help determine what type of people currently go to a pharmacy to pick up prescriptions along with what types of problems they might encounter when visiting, There personas were in three distinct groups those who needed a one time prescription, those who needed to come in to fill prescriptions about once a month with no narcotics and those who needed to fill many prescriptions a month including prescriptions.
