While working for the city of Brampton I continuously noticed how annoyed customers would become after seeing that they could not rent or place building bookings without coming into the building. I had discovered an area in which the City lacked, and so I conducted interviews with some of the people that were having these problems, along with conducting surveys and performing a communication audit. With this, I concluded that a mobile application would work best. I created an early prototype to showcase some of the features the app would have.

Research
When conducting interviews I tried to interview others from many different demographics and ages. A lot of them spoke up about how there was no online solution currently and how they have missed valuable opportunities because they could occasionally not make it to the building in time as it could close or there could be other issues.
" I wanted to book a room at this facility but I have no idea what each room looks like. My stay in this building was much longer than needed because I could not find any online resources "

"it was easy for me to book a room but when I saw the price breakdown I didn't understand all of the charges fully, the staff couldn't help me much either they had to get a manager to explain the price breakdown to me. I wish there was a way to see a price breakdown before I finalize the booking."
Surveys
Surveys were created and sent on social media platforms to people that lived within Brampton. The first survey showcases the age groups of people who answered back on the survey, while the second survey showcases the findings by asking people how satisfied they are with the current booking system the city has in place.

The main age demographic that responded to the survey was in the age range of 18-24. This is from the fact that most of the rentals conducted within the City of Brampton are also currently in that age range.
This is the graph that shows how satisfied the user was with the current booking system that the city of Brampton currently uses, an interesting takeaway from this is that 32% of patrons that have made rentals or bookings are at a middle point meaning that there is definitely more room for improvement with a better system.

Comparison Between Other Cities

An audit was also completed, this audit features two other cities which also have recreation buildings available for rent. the chart was made to compare what each had to make them successful and what features didn't work so well. after the audit was completed the results were taken so that the final artifact could be made to include what would work well for the city of Brampton.
After I had conducted all my research I started designing a mobile application, I wanted to design something that was easy to use and accessible to all, considering that there was a wide age group that had previously done rentals with the City of Brampton. At the top of the page, there are some screenshots and mockups of an early version of the app.
